StoreConnect uses Salesforce’s standard Price Book1 and Price Book Entry objects to manage your pricing. Each store will use the Price book assigned to it but you can also assign Price Books to specific accounts or memberships so selected customers get special pricing when logged into your store.

Price Book Configuration

To make use of all StoreConnect pricing features, you will need to make sure the fields you want to use are added to the Price Book and Price Book Entry page layouts. You can assign users the StoreConnect page layouts that come with the package if that is helpful.

If you create numerous Price Books for different stores or for special pricing, a Salesforce requirement is that the Standard Price Book must have an entry for all products that have an entry in any other Price Book. Keep that in mind when designing how to structure your pricing as you may, or may not, want to use the Standard Price Book for online store pricing.

Price Book Entries

All products need to have an active Price Book Entry with a List Price. If an item is free, give it a List Price of 0. If your product has variants (such as small, medium and large), then you will need to add the price to each variant. A master product with variants also needs a Price Book Entry and the store will display the price for the master product until one of the variants has been selected by the customer, and then will show the variant’s price.

Price Book Entries can be added from each products Price Book related list.

  1. Price book: A “price book” is best explained as a catalogue price. A business selling widgets may have different catalogues depending on the client-base. For instance, you could have three catalogues: 1) a wholesale, 2) retail and 3) online. Each of these catalogues, or Price Books, may have different prices for the same product depending on the client-base. Price books are inherent within Salesforce. See Product Pricing for more information.
